Important Information
- Registration opens at 12pm Eastern Time on March 1, 2024 and closes at 11:59 pm Eastern Time on June 15th, 2024
- Entries for competitive events received between June 16, 2024 and June 22, 2024 will incur double entry fees.
- Name(s) may not appear in the program for entries received after June 15, 2024.
- All fees paid in US dollars.
- Requests for refunds will not be considered but converted to a donation to the 2024 SDUSA National Championships Weekend.
- All events will be conducted under the RSOBHD Rules and Regulations governing competitions and championships.
- The decision of the judge(s) is final.
- All dancers must present a current RSOBHD registration card at time of check-in and upon request.
- A dancer's age for all dance events will be as of Thursday July 18, 2024, with the exception of the USIR Championship.
- First to enter will be last to dance except for USIR Championship, where a draw will determine order of dance.
- The organizers reserve the right to combine or divide age groups at their discretion.
- Dances will be performed in the order that they appear below.
- Dancers must remain in full costume to receive awards.
- Dancers will be requested to fill in for reels if necessary.
- Dancers reporting late for their event/dance may forfeit their right to dance.
- Protests must be in writing, signed and presented to the Competition Chair(s) within 24 hours and be accompanied by a $35 fee, which will be refunded if the protest is sustained.
- The 2024 RSOBHD Championship Steps must be danced for the USIR Championship and North American Open Championship and the 2024 RSOBHD Scottish National Dance Premiership Steps must be danced for the Premiership event.
- Pre-championship is open to Premier dancers who have never won a championship or pre-championship.
- Age groups will be determined for each event following the close of entries.
- All dancers must abide by the RSOBHD Code of Ethics.
- Parents and teachers should not be in the marshalling area.
- Email class changes to sdusa2024@gmail.com as soon as possible, and no later than July 15th, 2024. (This change will not be reflected in the program)
Dancers must show their 2024 RSOBHD Registration Card in order to receive their competition number(s) and welcome packet from the Hospitality Desk. Pre-Premier dancers must report to dancer check-in with their card on each day of competition.
Boston 2024- Choreography Competition Rules
- Solo and Group Choreography is limited to Premier dancers only.
- A Group Choreography must consist of at least three dancers. (Only 1 member of the group choreography should register on this form)
- If your group consists of dancers from multiple schools, the teachers need to sign the Joint School Choreography Form. If your teacher does not have access to this form, send an email request to sdusa2024choreo@gmail.com.
- Premier Solo Choreography will be divided into age groups based upon entries received.
- Group Choreography will not be divided into age groups.
- Solo Choreography is a maximum of 1 minute 30 seconds, including entrance and exit. Group Choreography is a maximum of 2 minutes, including entrance and exit.
- Maximum of 25 Premier Solo Choreography and maximum of 25 Group Choregoraphy entries will be accepted. Additional entries may be accepted at the discretion of the organizer.
- If more than 25 Solo Choreography and/or 25 Group Choreography entries are received, a waitlist will be established. Email sdusa2024choreo@gmail.com with your request to be added to the waitlist.
- If, after entering, circumstances prevent you from participating, please email sdusa2024choreo@gmail.com as soon as possible to allow another dancer from the waitlist to compete.
- All music must be submitted electronically by June 30, 2024 to sdusa2024choreo@gmail.com. Bring a backup copy on a memory stick to the event. No verbal communication with the sound technician will be permitted during the actual competition.
- Per RSOBHD rules, music may include vocal or percussion selections, but in all cases must be predominantly Scottish or Celtic in style.
